Your Coffee Roaster, Dr Ruby Zhu
I came to Australia in 2000 to further my studies and soon came to love the country. What I also loved was coffee and engaging with people, so I decided to truly learn coffee craft in Australia by working in a cafe during my years of study. Learning the ropes so to speak.
From that experience I started an accredited barista training company which I ran for nearly a decade. I’ve been roasting and selling my own brand of coffee (Dr Ruby Coffee Roasters) for the past 5 years and running my own coffee (Ruby Coffee) outlet for 4 years.
During all that I became interested in coffee judging and entering coffee competitions. I have received a number of medals for my roasted coffee varieties.
To me, coffee represents the finer moments in life, capturing and enhancing special occasions, whether shared with loved ones or enjoyed in solitude. I strive for my coffee to be your constant companion, creating a unique experience with every cup and leaving a lasting impression.

The award shows me that my progress is heading in the right direction. It has been such a great confidence booster and I’m so happy to have been successful in the competition. My next step is to be able to expand the distribution of my coffee products everywhere in the world.
